I tried everything, but my eventual fix was windows 10 prompted by State of Decay 2’s cross platform capabilities. I'm just assuming you're having the same issue as I am since mine does the exact same thing. By the time I gave up, returning it was out of the question so I'll probably just buy the fat dongle at some point until I finally decide to upgrade to Win10. I tried mixing the Win7 and Win10 driver software, even trying to create my own by editing the driver and running it in with Win7's testing mode on and nothing worked. Instead of returning it I decided to try to find a way to get it to work. I purchased the old dongle from Best Buy's website and had my father pick it up in-store since he works near it and they gave him the new dongle instead of the old one I wanted specifically for Windows 7 support. The old fat dongle works for Windows 7 to Windows 10, the new slim dongle designed for the Xbox One S controller ONLY works in Windows 10.
